Clinical counseling uses mental health counselling values and methods for the purpose of helping patients to fully comprehend their needs and concerns, in order to enhance their own self-growth, relationships, life transitions, spirituality and mental health. Treatment for Clinical counselling would involve a development into personal insight and learning to prevent or reduce maladjusted behavior or symptoms. A major focus would be enhancing and strengthening coping styles and improving relationships within the individual and with others.

Clinical counseling provides a variety of options of educational and mental health related services for individuals, couples, families, and groups. Clinical Counseling consists of clinical teaching and supervision, organizational consulting, training and critical crisis intervention.

Our Clinical Counselor at Alliance Wellness Vancouver uses a therapeutic style of a blend of many different approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Existential Analysis and Adlerian psychotherapy. He works on cultivating a collaborative and trusting relationship with each client and aims to develop a treatment plan based on the unique needs of the individual. He is also a group therapist in a forensic setting where he co-facilitates CBT treatment groups for male offenders. He also runs CBT groups for depression, anxiety and addiction.
